Campbell, Calif., Sept. 22, 2008 – Barracuda Networks Inc., today
announced that 70,000 customers spanning more than 80 countries now
rely upon Barracuda Networks for secure email, Web and IM filtering as
well as for addressing a variety of other network issues facing
businesses today. In addition, Barracuda Networks has also received
numerous company and product achievements in 2008.

During the course of 2008, Barracuda Networks has been recognized
with an array of product and company recognitions. A few examples of
this year’s accolades include:
- January 2008 – The Barracuda Load Balancer won the NetAdmin
World Award for “Technology Innovation” and the Barracuda Spam Firewall
was named the “Most Popular Product” during the 5th Annual China
Network Technology Summit in Beijing, China.
- April 2008 – For the second straight year, the Barracuda
Web Filter received the “Recommended” rating by SC Magazine, as one of
the best Web Filtering products. SC Magazine considered the Barracuda
Web Filter a “solid device with some very nice features” and gave a
verdict of: “This is a jewel for small- and mid-sized enterprises. For
its high value and affordability in most environments, we rate this
product as Recommended.”
- April 2008 – The Barracuda Web Filter took the Gold and the
Barracuda Spam Firewall took the Silver award in the annual Information
Security Magazine “Readers’ Choice Awards.”
- April 2008 – The Barracuda Spam Firewall received an SC
Magazine “Excellence Award” for best SME security solution and the
Barracuda IM Firewall took home an SC Magazine “Reader’s Trust Award”
for best instant messaging solution.
- August 2008 – The Barracuda Message Archiver received the
“Product Excellence Award” in the messaging solution category at the
Linuxworld conference in San Francisco.
- September 2008 – Fuji Chimera Research Inc., a Tokyo-based
research firm, reported that the Barracuda Spam Firewall was the
leading anti-spam solution in Japan for the third straight year
(2005-2007) according to the “2008 Comprehensive Study of Network
Security Business” report. The report also found that the Barracuda
Web Application Controller product line topped the list in both market
share and revenue for the Web application firewall market in Japan in
2007.
Other corporate highlights include an increased sales and operations facility in Basingstoke, U.K.
In addition, Barracuda Networks launched the Barracuda Web Site
Firewall in April 2008. The Barracuda Web Site Firewall leverages the
capabilities of the award-winning Web Application Controller product
line acquired from NetContinuum in September 2007.
